CUMTB is a strong partner of the Faculty of Engineering. Collaborations mainly focus on materials science, mechanical engineering, operational research, risk management, geomechanics and deep underground mining. Prof He Manchao, recently nominated as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in 2012.
